What is a Cabinet Cooler?

Our electrical cabinet panel coolers are a simple, reliable and inexpensive method to cool and climatize all types of electrical panels and enclosures. Supreme Air Electrical Panel Cooler uses compressed air to create hot and cold air streams. The coolers require only compressed air to work, so there is no need for harmful refrigerants and freon gas. With large cooling capacities of up to 7200 BTUs, they provide the perfect solution for quick and effective cooling in numerous types of electrical cabinets and enclosures.

How does a Cabinet Cooler work?
The cooler mounts vertically on top of the cabinet through a standard knockout hole. A locking ring provided with the cooler locks it into place.
A compressed air line hooks up to the cooler by threading a 1/4 NPT fitting to the air inlet.
As compressed air enters the cooler, the integrated vortex tube separates the air into hot and cold air streams.
The hot stream from the vortex tube is exhausted into the atmosphere by passing through a muffler which ensures low noise levels.
The cold air enters the electrical cabinet though an outlet tube located at the bottom of the cooler.
The cold stream entering the electrical cabinet causes the hot air inside to rise, which is then purged through the cooler.
An optional cold air distribution kit is also available. This connects to the cooler’s outlet tube and allows users to direct the cold stream to hot spots in the cabinet. Supreme Air Products' electrical panel coolers have been made of stainless steel for durability.

Specifications for Cabinet Coolers
Mounting:
Supreme Air Products(tm) Cabinet Cooler must be vertically mounted on a flat surface for all enclosure types. A 1-1/8" diameter hole or electrical knockout can be used to mount an electrical cabinet cooler unit. The locking ring holds it in place. For those coolers that cannot be mounted on top of cabinets due to height restrictions, we offer side mount kits.
Humidity:
It is important to close off any openings and vents that may bring in ambient air, especially in warm, hot, or highly humid environments. Cabinet Coolers that are continuously in operation maintain a relative humidity of 45%.
Filtration:
Clean filtered air should be used on all lines that power the Cabinet Cooler. We recommend a 5 micron auto drain filter. To prevent accidental water from entering the enclosure, it is important to filter properly. Use an oil filter that has a minimum of 0.3 micron rating if oil is found in compressed air.
Environment Considerations
NEMA 4/4X IP56 - Designed to be used in Electrical Control Panels. It is splash-resistant, oil-tight and dust-proof, making it suitable for outdoor as well as indoor use. For long-lasting use in wet environments, coolers are made of Type 304 Stainless Steel.
NEMA 12 (IP52) - Cabinet Coolers (oil-tight, dust-proof) are used in industrial environments where no liquids can come into contact with the unit. Coolers are constructed of Stainless Steel (Type 304) to withstand harsh corrosive environments.
